Ilse Hennemann is advisor climate change & environmental governance at Wageningen Center for Development Innovation (WCDI) in the Netherlands. She is a human geographer and environmental sociologist in the areas of integrated landscape approaches, climate change adaptation, environmental governance and multi-stakeholder processes in eco-agricultural landscapes. She works in several international projects in Africa and Asia where she provides advisory and training services to contribute to more resilient landscapes. She also develops and facilitates short courses on Climate Smart Landscapes, Climate Change and Food Security Nexus, and Landscape Governance.

Ingrid Gevers

Advisor Aquatic Resource Management and Climate Change

Ingrid Gevers is a Advisor Aquatic Resource Management and Climate Change at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI). She designs and facilitates learning trajectories, exploring the interface between climate change, disaster risk management, fisheries & food security in diverse aquatic landscapes. Ingrid aims to inspire people to change their practices through constructive dialogue and reflection and by bringing visual elements into learning. She develops and uses games, visuals and video in her capacity as a facilitator and trainer. After living many years abroad, she is now based in the Netherlands and Senegal where she is involved in projects and training courses mainly in Africa and Asia.

Mercy Owusu Ansah

Tropenbos Ghana

Since 2018, Mercy is the director of Tropenbos Ghana. She has a background in natural resources management and is also a forester by training. She is experienced in engaging communities in developing and implementing sustainable livelihood schemes. She has executed projects that have promoted community’s management in biodiversity conservation by facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogues and platforms at local, national and policy levels. Mercy furthermore has experience in policy formulation, review and implementation, the identification and analysis of gender roles in natural resource management, climate resilient landscapes approaches, and knowledge of the context, principles and relevance of integrated landscape approaches for natural resource governance.

Arnab Gupta

Advisor Seed Systems

Wageningen Center for Development Innovation

Arnab Gupta is working with Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI) as an Advisor specializing in Seed Systems and involved in WCDI's implementation of the seed projects under the Integrated Seed Sector Development (ISSD) banner. He is agricultural systems expert and currently working in the projects being implemented in Myanmar, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria.

The last three years Arnab has been involved in the WCDI Seed and Genetic Resources course, as an expert in genetic resource conservation. Arnab is also well versed with the deployment of digital systems to assist farming and has been instrumental in development of mobile apps for seed intelligence and logistics in Myanmar and Uganda.

Tossa Harding

Learning Design Advisor

Tossa works as Learning Design Advisor at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation at Wageningen University and Research. She has a background in environmental systems analysis and social sciences, and focuses on the role of learning in systems transformation. Her interests lie in systems thinking and improving the relationship between people and nature as a way to solve the complex issues the world faces today. She believes in the power of education in building capacities for sustainable development and transformative action. For this reason Tossa has been involved with the development of online courses in different capacities. She sees online education as a means to empower people to contribute to a positive change in the world.

Hans Bolcher

Dutch economist & Senior consultant

Hans is a Dutch economist and senior consultant in the field of climate, climate finance and (renewable) energy. He is the former director Climate and Industry at the Ministry of Environment and former Director CCS at Economic Affairs at the Dutch government. Hans is deeply involved in the fields of climate finance and changing investment framework. His advisory experience spans from developing policies, analysing and measuring climate and development finance. Next to his advisory work he has hands-on operational and executive experience in the field of climate finance, executing many due diligences for investors in clean energy. As Director of a large investment fund he is well aware of the possibilities and limitations for climate finance. Hans is also a non-executive chair in two green companies.

Evan Sampene Mensah

Tropenbos Ghana

Evans Sampene Mensah is currently a project coordinator at Tropenbos Ghana. He is a social forester and environmental resources management expert with wide background in the area of project management, sustainable natural resources management, natural resources conflict management and facilitating multi-stakeholders ’engagements and processes. He works in organizing community forestry associations and other forms of local stakeholders’ platforms, facilitating participatory planning in order to establish conditions for legal and sustainable forest operations, supporting the adoption of sustainable alternative livelihoods that do not depend on illegal forest operations. He also worked extensively on Ghana country approaches to REDD+ Safeguards by interacting with both relevant public sector and civil society organizations at the international, national and subnational levels.

Herman Brouwer

Herman Brouwer is a senior advisor at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation (WCDI) at Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands, working on multi-stakeholder engagement for sustainable and inclusive food systems. He advises, trains and coaches professionals across sectoral boundaries on how to contribute to sustainable development through collaboration.

As an accredited Partnership Brokering Association (PBA) partnership broker, Herman is supporting local and global partnerships, mainly in food security and natural resource management, in more than 25 countries. He is lead author of the acclaimed MSP Guide: How to design and facilitate multi-stakeholder partnerships, which has been referred to as an “invaluable management tool for identifying the core principles, tools and considerations needed to optimise your organisation’s approach to engagement”. This book, which has recently been translated into French and Spanish, is accompanied by The MSP Tool Guide which contains 60 tools to make MSPs more effective.

James Mulkerrins is a knowledge co-creation advisor at Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation. Together with (non-) LPFN partners, WCDI are developing the Landscape Academy to be the go-to-place for landscape learning. “Our aim is to bring all of the emerging landscapes knowledge to one place, where everyone, who wants to #ThinkLandscape can learn how to implement integrated landscape approaches in their work.”

Assumpta Uzamukunda

Assumpta Uzamukunda has a background in Biodiversity Conservation, Forest Management and Forest Policy. She has experience in landscape restoration, landscape governance, sustainable food and agriculture, multi-stakeholder processes and resource mobilization. She currently works as a local representative of the partnership between SNV and Wageningen University & Research (WUR) in the HortInvest project. In the past Assumpta has worked for FAO, IUCN and the Rwanda Water and Forests Authority (RWFA) on landscape governance related topics. Her main duties were to participate in formulation, implement and enforcement of policies for the rehabilitation of natural forests.
